Chris Remy-Thomas

Chris Remy-Thomas is the Owner of Vital Environments and serves as Chief Biotoxin Assessor within the Purified Environments Provider Network (PEPN). His work centers on evaluating indoor environments that may contribute to complex or chronic exposure concerns, with an emphasis on clarity, documentation, and responsible interpretation of environmental data.

His professional direction was shaped by personal experience. After living in a moisture- and mold-impacted environment that affected his family’s health, Chris developed a systems-based understanding of how buildings can influence biological stress, recovery capacity, and long-term well-being.

Chris approaches indoor environments as interconnected exposure systems—where moisture dynamics, fine particulates, microbial reservoirs, and airflow patterns collectively influence occupant risk. His assessment philosophy prioritizes transparency, methodological restraint, and findings that can be reasonably translated into health-informed decisions.

Chris is a Founding Partner of the Purified Environments Provider Network (PEPN), a governance alliance partnership focused on advancing consistent, evidence-informed environmental practice. Learn more at www.pepn.us.

Through Vital Environments and PEPN-aligned projects, Chris supports field assessments, data review, and remediation oversight with a focus on precision, balance, and client understanding—ensuring conclusions remain appropriate, defensible, and grounded in observable conditions.
